What vehicles require emissions testing?

All vehicles currently operating on the road are required by the state to undergo testing. Of course, certain exemptions do apply. For example, vehicles newer than six years old are exempt from emissions testing, while certain other types of vehicles are exempt. These exemptions do change regularly, however, so it is best to consult your vehicle technician to discover whether your particular model of car or truck requires emissions testing.

Besides reducing carbon emissions, testing allows a trained technician to catch any issues with the engine or exhaust system early on. By completing repairs before they become major problems, the total cost is reduced and your vehicle will run more efficiently. If you’re unsure whether you require emissions testing, bring your car to one of our trained technicians.
